Marriage
is a gift God has given to all humankind for the well-being of the entire human
family. A Christian
marriage is a covenant through which a man and a woman are called to live out
together before God their lives of discipleship. In a service of Christian marriage
a lifelong commitment is made by a woman and a man to each other, publicly witnessed
and acknowledged by the community of faith. |

| Questions
and Answers
Q. Do we need to be members?
A. No. But at least one member of the couple should be a professing Christian.
Q. Can we have our own minister do the service?
A. It is expected that the St. Mark's Pastor will officiate. Other clergy may
participate upon invitation of the pastor.
Q. May we use our own organist?
A. All music must be approved by the Pastor. When organ music is planned, the
Pastor will arrange for the church organist to play. If the church organist is
unavailable, the Pastor will arrange a substitute.
Q. Can we be married on Sunday?
A. Because of the active Sunday program of the Church, Saturday night and Sunday
weddings are discouraged.
