Christmas Books

for the entire family

The giving of Advent- and Christmas-themed books as gifts during this season is a tradition in many families. An equally-loved tradition in many families is to choose a story that the entire family will enjoy and read it, a chapter (or a few pages) each evening. Books suitable for both purposes are listed here.

The books suggested here could provide a "library list" for your next trip to the local library. Start early, for these are popular titles that will circulate early in the season. You'll find these book titles, divided by approximate age/reading abilities, linked HERE.

All of the books listed on all of these pages should be available at most bookshops and libraries, as well as at many online sources. Amazon.com's descriptions have been linked because they are easily accessible and provide considerable information to help you decide if any of the listed books are suitable for your purposes.

Gabaldon A Christmas story for the whole family!
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
by Barbara Robinson

The local Presbyterian church is in a turmoil when the neighborhood's most difficult children, having been lured to the church after hearing classmates discuss the candy treats they received there, decide they want to take part in the traditional Christmas pageant. The antics of these new pageant participants are hilarious, but in the end, their newly-discovered knowledge of what Christmas is leads to a startling conclusion. This story makes the point that in a Presbyterian church, even children can be evangelists for Christ.
