Reverend
Doctor
Judith Cuthbertson |
Our
vision is to become known as a dynamic, diverse church which serves Jesus through
its creative worship, children's and youth ministries, and commitment to mission.
St. Mark's envisions becoming a spiritual home that embraces diversity and breaks
barriers between ages, races, ethnicities, classes, and cultures.
St. Mark's envisions becoming a dynamic worship center which glorifies God through
our artistic gifts and talents.
St. Mark's envisions becoming a loving, hands on congregation which nurtures all
children and youth.
St. Mark's envisions becoming a community of disciples in which each is challenged
to make a difference through mission at home, work, and to the world.

About
Us

| History |
In
2009 St. Mark’s will celebrate its 100th birthday as a con-gregation in
Lomita. In 1909 Lomita was just two years old and members of the community felt
a need to have a place of worship for their families. Ranchers on the Weston Ranch
and others including Rev. Z. Hendricks and many Dunkard Brethren decided to organize
a church. To raise startup funds, they put on a play in the Ranch warehouse. Worshippers
met in the home of Rev. Z. Henricks until the church building was finished. more>> |
